Felicity Millar

Hi I am Felicity Millar. I have the honour of being the principal at Harakeke Early Learning Centre. I have a Bachelor of Teaching ECE.

I believe this: We need to stop just pulling people out of the river. We need to go upstream and find out why they are falling in.

My three loves are my family my work and my motorbikes.

A little about me.

I am a wife, mum and a nan. I have 2 children aged 25 and 23 and a beautiful moko who lives in Australia with her mum.

I am married to David who has been by my side for 20 years and is my rock. I am a better teacher then wife as I often work late and forget dinner dates.

I believe teachers in the ECE sector have a very important job, that job is to support tamariki and their whānau to be the best they can.

We do this by creating a learning environment that is open to all tamariki, that extends on the kete of knowledge tamariki bring with them.

Through developing children’s dispositions such as perseverance, confidence, courage and trust we support tamariki to be healthy in mind body and soul.

Please be aware I have an open door policy and believe strong relationships from home to Harakeke are the foundation blocks of our centre. We enjoy our active participation within the Harakeke community and want you to know we are here to support you.
