Playdough Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 cups of flour
- 6 tablespoons of cream of tartar
- ¼ cup of salt
- ¼ cup of oil
- 2 cups of boiling water
- Food colouring
Instructions
- Put dry ingredients into a bowl. Add the oil and water and combine all together until you have a ball of dough.
- By adding the food colouring to the water it will ensure consistent and even colouring through the playdough.
- Store in the fridge wrapped in cling film.
Musical Instrument: Yoghurt Shakers
Materials Needed
- Yoghurt containers
- Objects for inside the containers’ stones, rice, bark etc
- Soft card
- Cellotape
- Paint
- Glue
- Glitter
- Assorted bits of material
Instructions
- Place different objects into yoghurt container.
- Use soft card to seal yoghurt container
- Celotape the soft card to the container
- Decorate the container with the Paint, glitter and assorted material.
Hints
Different objects make different sounds so make a selection of different sounding shakers and get the Whanau involved in playing the shakers and have a simple sing along together.
Gloop Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup of cornflour
- 1 cup of cold water (hot water can be used as well. It will be a different consistency)
- Food colouring
Instructions
- Mix cornflour, water and food colouring together until thin and pasty.
- Pour onto any smooth surface to play with.
Hint: TO MAKE INTO FINGER PAINT
- Scrape dried up gloop off the table.
- Put in a pot and add boiling water and stir vigorously until thick.
- Add more water to adjust the consistency.
- Use a whisk or stick mixer to make smooth.
- Store covered in the fridge.
